Defiance Ventures Acquires SaaS Product: The Q

Defiance Ventures today announced that it has acquired The Q, an innovative SaaS offering that simplifies the origination of syndicated bond deals from pitch to market, from Kingsmen Software.  Defiance plans to re-brand The Q and to invest in product development and marketing to drive deeper adoption within capital markets.

“We are building a portfolio of Enterprise B2B SaaS products and The Q is a very natural fit.  Kingsmen developed a great piece of software and we look forward to using our platform to accelerate its adoption and help it to reach its true potential” said John Espey, co-founder of Defiance Ventures.  He added “we like products that are ten times better than their alternative, and the speed and accuracy and transparency provided by The Q is at least that much better than manual, spreadsheet, and email driven processes.”

Defiance plans to re-brand the platform expects the re-branding to take four to six weeks and plans to invest in product development and integrations into other popular investment banking platforms.

Kevin Carney, managing partner at Kingsmen said, “We are very pleased to transition The Q to a group with the deep capabilities in selling and marketing to capital markets and with the banking experience that Defiance has.  I look forward to seeing how they evolve the platform.”
